Amazon Detective now supports Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) endpoints via AWS PrivateLink, enabling you to securely initiate API calls to Detective from within your VPC without requiring Internet traversal. AWS PrivateLink support for Detective is available in all AWS Regions where Detective is available (see the AWS Region table). To try the new feature, you can create a VPC endpoint for Detective through the VPC console, API, or SDK. This creates an elastic network interface in your specified subnets. Acelerar nuestro crecimiento comercial

Satya Nadella, presidente y director ejecutivo, compartió la siguiente comunicación con los empleados de Microsoft esta mañana.

Estamos en medio de un cambio de plataforma de IA tectónica, que requiere que administremos y hagamos crecer nuestro negocio comercial a escala hoy, mientras construimos la nueva frontera y ejecutamos sin problemas en ambos.

La historia muestra que las tecnologías de propósito general como la IA impulsan cambios radicales en la productividad y el crecimiento del PIB, y tenemos una oportunidad única de ayudar a nuestros clientes y al mundo a hacer realidad esta promesa.

Nuestro éxito depende de permitir que los clientes y socios comerciales y del sector público combinen su capital humano con nuevas capacidades de IA para cambiar la frontera de cómo operan. Para acelerar esto, necesitaremos cada vez más unir ventas, marketing, operaciones e ingeniería para impulsar el crecimiento y fortalecer nuestra posición como el socio elegido para la transformación de la IA.

Con este contexto, le he pedido a Judson Althoff que asuma un papel más amplio como CEO de nuestro negocio comercial. Biblioteca Central para Ciegos y Microsoft lanzan innovadora plataforma digital de audiolibros accesibles en Chile

La iniciativa, desarrollada junto a QRT Solutions y basada en la nube de Microsoft Azure pone a disposición de la comunidad ciega una biblioteca digital gratuita que elimina barreras y promueve la inclusión.

Santiago, Chile — A partir de hoy, las personas con discapacidad visual en Chile cuentan con una nueva biblioteca digital de audiolibros accesible desde cualquier dispositivo. El proyecto, desarrollado por QRT Solutions para la Biblioteca Central para Ciegos (BCC) con el apoyo tecnológico de Microsoft, busca derribar barreras en el acceso a la lectura y la cultura a través de la nube y la innovación digital.

Hasta ahora, quienes deseaban acceder a audiolibros debían trasladarse físicamente a la Biblioteca y organizarse con materiales que solían perderse o dificultaban el seguimiento de las lecturas. Con esta nueva plataforma, más de 600 títulos están disponibles de manera remota y gratuita, convirtiéndose en herramientas de estudio, consulta y entretenimiento para miles de personas.

Según la Encuesta de Discapacidad y Dependencia (ENDIDE 2022), en Chile viven más de 153 mil personas adultas ciegas y otros 4,6 millones con alguna enfermedad visual. La falta de materiales adaptados afecta directamente sus oportunidades educativas. Según datos de Fundación Luz, casi la mitad de quienes perdieron parte de su visión no completaron la enseñanza media, cifra que asciende al 62% entre las personas con ceguera total.

Nicolás Chinchón, cofundador y gerente general deQRT Solutions, destacó: “No podíamos quedar indiferentes ante esta situación. Nuestro aporte permitió crear el nuevo ambiente virtual para la BCC y su comunidad: un lugar donde ellos pueden ingresar de forma digital, navegar entre el registro histórico de la biblioteca y escuchar los libros narrados por decenas de voluntarios, que ponen su grano de arena para que otros puedan mantenerse conectados con las obras más clásicas que diferentes autores han creado”.

La biblioteca digital, que corre sobre tecnología Microsoft Azure, fue diseñada con estándares de accesibilidad y desarrollada con herramientas de inteligencia artificial para optimizar los tiempos de implementación. Además, está respaldada por el programa Tech for Social Impact de Microsoft, que entrega recursos tecnológicos y financiamiento a organizaciones sin fines de lucro de forma gratuita.

“En Microsoft creemos que la tecnología debe ser una herramienta para derribar barreras y ampliar oportunidades para todas las personas. Este proyecto es un ejemplo de cómo, trabajando junto a organizaciones como QRT Solutions y la Biblioteca Central para Ciegos, podemos crear soluciones accesibles que transforman vidas y fomentan la inclusión. Nos enorgullece que nuestras plataformas en la nube estén ayudando a que más personas con discapacidad visual en Chile puedan acceder a la lectura y la cultura sin limitaciones”, afirmó Andrés Roepke, Country Manager de Microsoft para Chile.

Además de esta transformación digital, la Biblioteca ha adoptado herramientas de Microsoft 365 como Copilot que permiten nuevas formas de trabajo colaborativo y fortalecen la gestión interna de la institución usando Inteligencia Artificial.

Elizabeth Caballería, funcionaria ciega de la Biblioteca y usuaria de la nueva plataforma, valoró el cambio que implica el acceso digital: “Para mí, la inteligencia artificial ha sido muy importante desde hace un tiempo, porque antes tenía que hacer todos mis trabajos de forma manual; ir a un lugar, buscar información, investigar y realizar un estudio me tomaba mucho tiempo. Ahora puedo hacer ciertas actividades en apenas cinco minutos. Por ejemplo, utilizo Copilot para crear una invitación, busco el curso, la temática e inmediatamente me entrega la información”.

Lorenzo Morales, usuario de la Biblioteca que ha estado presente desde los inicios de la institución, abordó los avances tecnológicos de la lectura: “Me encuentro con una biblioteca diferente a la que conocí hace muchos años, cuando venía a buscar libros en casetes y me llevaba una mochila llena de ellos. Ahora me encuentro con que existe otra forma de hacerlo, de transmitirlo, a través de esta modalidad digital que tanto nos ayuda hoy. Esta nueva biblioteca llama la atención porque uno, desde su casa, puede acercarse a la lectura; basta con leer el libro en línea y revisar todo el catálogo en cualquier momento. Es un gran adelanto”.

La Directora Nacional (s)  del Servicio Nacional de la Discapacidad (Senadis), Karen Astorga, valoró la iniciativa de colaboración público-privada impulsada por Microsoft y la Biblioteca Central para Ciegos. «Estamos muy felices de que existan iniciativas como esta, que permiten a las personas con discapacidad visual acercarse a la lectura, el conocimiento y la cultura, a través de un proyecto digital que promueve el conocimiento y la entretención, como es la Biblioteca Digital que hoy lanzamos».

El acceso a la plataforma se realiza a través del sitio web oficial de la Biblioteca Central para Ciegos, en la sección Biblioteca Digital. Para utilizar el servicio, los usuarios deben contar con credenciales otorgadas por la institución, disponibles mediante un formulario de registro en la misma página.

Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) now supports additional endpoints that have been validated under the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-3 program in AWS Regions in the United States and Canada.

FIPS compliant endpoints help companies contracting with the US federal government meet the FIPS security requirement to encrypt sensitive data in supported regions. With this expansion, you can use Amazon SNS for workloads that require a FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic module when sending requests over dual-stack public or VPC endpoints.

With this integration, CloudWatch Logs customers have two more query languages for log analytics, in addition to CloudWatch Logs Insights QL. Customers can use SQL to analyze data, correlate logs using JOIN, sub-queries, and use SQL functions, namely, JSON, mathematical, datetime, and string functions for intuitive log analytics. They can also use the OpenSearch PPL to filter, aggregate and analyze their data. With a few clicks, CloudWatch Logs customers can create OpenSearch dashboards for VPC, WAF, and CloudTrail logs to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot using visualizations derived from the logs. OpenSearch customers no longer have to copy logs from CloudWatch for analysis, or create ETL pipelines.
